Reflecting on my creativity in 2018 has been an interesting one for me. The important elements as I see them regarding past work and the threads that connect ideas and pieces together are evident. However, just as I felt my experimentation become more confident towards the end of the year, time became an issue and work slowed as is often the case. Just as you get going, something stops your flow! In some respects it can be very frustrating, but then you realise it’s also the beauty of being self employed, choosing to juggle other creative avenues, work commitments and family life. It’s ok for things to slow, it actually gave me an opportunity to reflect and at the end of the day it’s simply part of the process. Just keep moving forward is my motto. And with that in mind, this year I am determined to build creativity into every week of the year. Well as much as I can! With the obvious focus on new painterly directions as well as recent influences from all sorts of colours and surfaces I am looking forward to creating a varied portfolio of work and am going to make the most of my little studio in 2019. Thank you as always for your continued support and may this year be a very happy and fulfilling one. 💫
